Summary: This outdoor
recreational complex was designed to provide competitive swimming as well
as full community recreational uses.
The filter and chemical systems are controlled by the Command
Center 1. The main pool is
“Z” shaped in design. It
has a full width shallow end entry which incorporates in-pool seating. The
shallow area is utilized by small children and the floor has a
gradual slope. The other two
legs of the pool provide a six lane 75 yard competition pool and a 6 lane
25 meter competition pool. This
allows the pool to be used for both high school and college swimming
events. At the west end of the pool 25 yd. segment are two water
slides. The facility also incorporates a large wader
pool for small children.
mechanical design consists of a 45 sq. ft. vacuum sand filter and a
stainless steel gutter system. Both pools and the club house water
heating are done with one boiler which utilizes multiple heat exchangers.
The pool heat exchangers are cupro-nickel to protect the boiler
against the possible corrosive effects of the swimming pool water.
